The Resurfacing of The Closet Painter

Hmmm...I moaned for so long about the difficulties of updating and editing a blog with only a smartphone, that now that I'm sat here with the ability to blog from a computer proper, I really don't have a clue what I should write about. Yes, folks, I am finally (almost) caught up to the technology of today. I am mostly clueless on how to make use of this technology, and may just resort to the simplified, yet sometimes annoyingly difficult, ways that I have become accustomed to. Hopefully that will not be the case. There is so much that I need to learn. I am counting on a few of my fellow warmongers on Twitter to keep me motivated.

On the topic of motivation, as well as that of warmongers, I'd like to introduce to you someone I've met on Twitter...@PVasiljevic. A few weeks back, he challenged me to a 2-hour paint-off. The goal was for each of us to take a standard, 28mm table-top gaming miniature that was only primed, and paint  it to table-top quality with a finished base in 2 hours or less. For any of you who have ever followed my  painting progress, you will no doubt be laughing right now.

It took exactly 2 hours, but we both managed the task. I'm afraid that, even though this was not supposed to be a competition to see which of us had a better quality paintjob, I still found myself comparing. I believe that Mr. Vasiljevic did a fine job.
And here are some more shots: http://olovni.deviantart.com/#/d5ed6tm

And here is my boring UltraSmurf.

It's not much, but I was still proud to have completed him in such a short amount of time. Too bad I can't say the same on the many other projects that I have in limbo.

Until next time, I hope to stay motivated to both paint and to keep this blog from gathering so much dust...

  1. Hey Sally! Nice job I gotta say I'd be thrilled with either result in two hours!

    I'd probably just dip...
